Feeling Baby Move

I felt the baby move last week!!! I heard that first time mothers won't feel the baby for a little while because they mistake the feeling for something else even though some report feeling their baby as early as 13 weeks. I was in pilates last week and I felt a feather sort of feeling go across my tummy. I wasn't for sure if it was the baby or not and I told Joe that night about my hunch. Then on Friday I was driving home from work...of course I was singing at the top of my lungs with the radio turned up...and I felt a poke! I immediately called Joe and then my Mom to say that I was now certain it was the baby. They were excited. Joe first said the baby was probably dancing and then said that the baby probably wanted me to stop singing. I agree with both...I bet the baby didn't like my singing so I will curb that activity in the future, but I am positive it enjoys my music. I think the baby will take after its Mom and not like country music!!!

Maternity Clothes

I have received a TON of maternity clothes so far from family and friends. My cousin, Kamille, and friend, Teresa, let me borrow huge baskets full of clothes that they used. I also have received new clothes from my Mom, Carol, and Lindsey. For those who don't know, Carol is my mother-in-law and Lindsey is my sister-in-law.

Well, today I finally decided to try on a pair of jeans from my stash. I grabbed from Kamille's basket and pulled out some jeans that fit perfectly. Thanks everyone who gave me clothes. I am excited to go through and try everything on this weekend. You ladies are the best! I was glad not to mess with the rubber bands and be-band today. The be-band has not been as awesome as I thought it would be. It was great the first day, but got progressively looser each time I wore it . It just flaps down and doesn't even touch my upper torso. Maybe I should have gotten a smaller size or maybe it was just never going to work for me.

Pediatrician Interview...

Mom and I went in to "interview" a pediatrician on Wednesday to see if he is worthy to take care of our little baby. I heard from several of my friends that Dr. Emm was a really nice doctor. All of them had doctors in the same practice and had seen him at one time or another. He is also the pediatrician for my niece, Audrey. He was highly recommended from everyone. The whole interview was actually kind of fun, and we really liked him. I didn't know what to expect and now am glad we did it.

Dr. Appointment

Baby L and I had an appointment on Tuesday with Dr. Nord's office. The heartbeat was really strong today and holding steady at 155. That means it is still high and pointing towards girl. Joe isn't able to make all of our appointments since he works an hour away from Bloomington. He will come in for the important ones and skip the routine visits. Mom had an appointment in the same building with a different doctor shortly after my appointment, so Mom and Dad decided at the last minute to go with me. It was nice not to go by myself and I know they enjoyed hearing the heartbeat too. Dad had to leave the room when they drew my blood...kinda like my husband did last time...are all men the same?!?! I just hope Joe can make it through the delivery. My next appointment is August 6th and that is the BIG one where we find out if it is a boy or a girl. We will post the results as soon as we know. I just hope we don't have a shy baby. Joe and I can't wait!!!!!

Visit to Springfield, MO

We decided to go down to Springfield, MO for the July 4th weekend. We stayed with Teresa, Dana, and baby Caden in their apartment. Joe tried out his daddy skills on Caden...five minutes later he got spit up on, so it didn't last long. Joe will be a good daddy anyway! Caden was extra adorable this weekend and greeted us with a smile EVERY morning. So cute!! I hope our baby does that. He even cut a tooth this weekend and still smiled! Joe and Dana played golf and video games all weekend while Teresa and I went shopping. We all enjoyed playing Catan and poker with Angie and Jeff at night. Good times!

We also had a Woods Staff Reunion while I was in town. We met at Cheddars for lunch and had a great time. Jessica met up with Matt and I later for a lunch at Arris Pizza which was yummy! Everyone is all grown up and moving on...tear...
