Grandpa Jim's Balancing Act

Grandpa Jim has always tried to balance babies once they are able to hold their weight. There are a ton of pictures of him balancing Uncle Chris, but none of balancing Mommy.

Reese went to her first circus a few days later and learned more about balancing from the Gamma Phi Circus on campus at ISU.

Reese Rolls Over!

I was down on the floor with Reese today doing tummy time and then all the sudden she rolled over. I took a picture after she rolled from her tummy to her back. I think she was kind of scared and just looked at me like I did something. I was so excited for her.

Reese's First Easter

It was a big day for Reese today. We went to church with the whole Derry family. Everyone passed her around and got a chance to hold her. Then we went to our weekly Sunday lunch at Grandma Sandy's house. All the kids and grandkids got baskets. No one had to search for them this year, but we all look forward to Miss Reese looking for her basket and eggs next year.
After lunch, we went over to Nana and Papa's for an afternoon meal and Easter celebration with that side of the family. Miss Reese is spoiled by everyone!

Momma's First Day Back to Work :(

I had to go back to work and leave my baby girl at Grandma Sandy’s house. Reese had an activity filled day with playing, watching tv, swinging, and sleeping with the kitten. Grandpa Jim, Grandma Sandy, and Reese sent me some cute balloons to get me through the day. I even had to go to Mom’s house for lunch to get my Reese fix.

Reese's Room

We are finally done with her room. The room was painted before she was born and I put the pictures up right after she was born. It just took a while for us to get pictures in all the frames. I am very proud of her room.

4 Generations of Derrys

I really wanted to get a 4 Generation picture with Reese and the Derry side. Her Great-Grandma Doris also wanted one to put in the paper where they used to live. Reese has so many Grandparents who love her!

2 Month Doctor's Appointment

Reese is growing so much. Her height was 23¼ inches in 80%, weight was 12lbs, 8 oz in the 90%, and head circumference was 15 inches in the 30%. We also got some shots this visit. She did pretty well and cried only a little. The doctor though she had a strong head and was doing great.

Our first baby-free weekend

Joe and I are getting away for a weekend in St. Louis for the ISU Basketball Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. We went with a few other couples and made it through the weekend without our baby girl. I did pretty well except for when we got home. I just wanted so much for her to smile at me again so I knew she didn’t forget me. She finally smiled at me when we got home and all was well.

Reese - Two Months Old

Reese turned two months old on February 28, 2010 and she is on the famous chair to see how big she is getting. We hope to get her on the chair every month for a while so we can actually view her growth. She is already getting so big!

Reese is now sleeping in her crib. She is getting so much more mobile.
She is now sleeping in her crib. I went to get her the next morning and she moved herself 90 degrees. I couldn't believe she did that. I just had to take a picture of her progress. I saw her move to her side a couple of times this week.

She loves her play gym. She just kicks and hits the toys. We will look down at her and she will smile and smile while she plays. It is so cute!

6 weeks old

Reese is now cooing when you talk with her and is smiling ALL the time. We love it and enjoy her being more interactive with us.
See my big smile!

Another big smile

Happy Valentine's Day!!

5 weeks old

We finally got a picture of Reese pushing up and showing us how strong she is. She isn't very happy with tummy time. She would rather push back when she is being held. She looks all around and is taking in everything. Reese finally grew out of her newborn clothes and is now in 0-3 months.

4 weeks old

Reese is 4 weeks old this week and is getting a lot more active. She is smiling a lot more often and loves it when you talk to her.
